The Small Business Administration is allowing North Carolinians to file a new disaster loan application for assistance with Hurricane Florence recovery, but applicants must provide an explanation for missing the deadline that’s acceptable to the SBA. Homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profits can apply for low interest disaster loans to repair or replace real estate, personal property, and business assets damaged or destroyed by Florence. The SBA has approved more than 9,400 disaster loans totaling about $370 million dollars. Disaster loan outreach centers are open at Centenary United Methodist Church in New B ern and Onslow Government Center in Jacksonville.
