Since last Monday, Onslow County reports six COVID-19 related deaths. Of those, two were less than 65 years of age without underlying conditions. The recent fatalities bring Onslow's total number of deaths to 227. The number of active cases in the county has dropped by 976 cases since last Thursday. Onslow Health Director Kristen Richmond Hoover said in a news release that Onslow has at least 17 open outbreaks and clusters of cases. Of those, 3 are congregate living sites, 2 are day care centers, and 1 location is a workplace. About 2,000 people received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in the past seven days. About 57% of Onslow County’s population have received a COVID-19 vaccine dose.
