New Bern, NC – Last January former Ferry Division Director Jerry Gaskill was indicted on charges he forced workboats into the Corolla Channel in order to deepen the basin. This summer the Ferry Division was again in the spotlight when boats were used to transport legislators during the Pepsi America's Sail event in Beaufort. Now, the division is under new Direction. Jack Cahoon has served for 13 years within the Ferry Division and says he plans to move on from the events of the last year and is launching into his role as Ferry Director with a clean slate.
