East Carolina University Will Require Face Masks For Returning Students

East Carolina University

East Carolina University in Greenville will require students to wear face coverings when they return in August.  The university announced their plan on Mondayon how to safely reopen while following federal guidance and state laws. Beginning July 1, faculty, staff, students and visitors are expected to wear face masks in public spaces and in face-to-face meetings. This includes wearing face coverings in classrooms, labs, and on the ECU Transit System.  If practical, students are encouraged to have a COVID-19 test for active virus either before arriving on campus or before engaging in activities on campus.  The university is also requiring distancing of at least six feet apart, installing sanitizing stations and plexiglass shields, as well as increasing cleaning in high traffic areas.
