"The Alzheimer's Fantasies" is an exhibition of 30 colored drawings and digital prints on display at the Craven County Arts Council, Bank of the Arts gallery, 317 Middle Street in New Bern. The show runs from February 9, 2024 to March 29, 2024. The exhibiting artist is Michael A. Dorsey, retired art professor and former dean of the School of Art at East Carolina University. Dorsey previously served as Head of the Department of Art at Mississippi State University. He and his wife reside at Minnesott Beach, NC. Dorsey describes his work as a visual conversation to himself while serving as a caregiver for his wife. The exhibit is free and open to the public 10:00 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. All sale profits will be donated to the North Carolina Alzheimer's Association.
