Two arrests have been made following a Sunday morning hit-and-run in Greene County that left a Snow Hill resident dead. George Olsen has more.
The state Highway Patrol announced the arrest of Jamal Antwon Johnson of Stantonsburg in the incident that led to the death of Jimmy Terrell Suggs of Snow Hill. Preliminary investigation indicated Suggs walked into the path of a car early Sunday morning around 4:30 on U-S 258 south in Greene County. He was found on the road’s shoulder and transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital where he later died. Johnson has been charged with felony hit and run as well as driving while license revoked. A passenger Rosa Elena Cerna, also of Stantonsburg is charged with aiding and abetting felony hit and run. Both were processed at the Greene County Jail and placed under $25,000 secured bond.
