UCLA officials say they are reviewing security, after students pointed out that while they were hunkered down during yesterday’s campus shooting, some of their classroom doors were didn’t have locks or swung outwards so they couldn’t be barricaded easily.
School security expert Chris Dorn tells Here & Now’s Robin Young that there’s been a shift towards lockable classroom doors since the Sandy Hook school shooting, but it can be expensive, and school officials have to find the right balance between safety and openness.
