Lenoir County

The Neuse River through Lenoir County is expected to continue rising through Saturday morning when forecasters predict it will crest at 25 feet. Forecasters predict it will stay that way for 12-to-24 hours before slowly receding. As of this morning, the water had risen to almost 23 feet. El Nino to create unpredictable winter

Eastern North Carolina has been experiencing unusual weather this winter – Christmas Day marked record breaking warm temperatures.  A couple of weeks later, there were reports of snow flurries and temperatures dipping into the middle 20's.  The unsteady conditions felt throughout the nation has been attributed to El Nino.  Chris Thomas has more on how it’s affected, and may affect, the region.

Once known for its tobacco history, Kinston is trying to transition into a destination for art and culture.  Today, we hear learn about a new seven-piece installation by famous sculptor Thomas Sayre.

Kinston has undergone a bit of a renaissance in recent years. The area is now home to a thriving art community, a craft brewery, award-winning restaurants, and a rich history.
