Vidant Health will implement visitor restrictions starting Wednesday at the James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital in Greenville. Due to a rise of people with respiratory viruses in the community, the hospital will limit visitation to people 12 years of age and older, who are not exhibiting symptoms of cold or flu, fever, diarrhea, vomitting, or headaches. According to the N.C. Division of Public Health, influenza-like illnesses are increasing slightly across the state. There have been three flu-related deaths in North Carolina so far this season.
