INTRO – Tryon Palace will get a national stage during the upcoming fall television season. George Olsen has more.
Filming for the Fox Television series “Sleepy Hollow” will take place on the grounds of Tryon Palace today and tomorrow. It will mark the first time Tryon Palace has been used as a location for a major studio production. The scenes will be filmed primarily in the Palace’s eastern courtyard and the smokehouse. Filming will take place at night so normal operating hours and scheduled tours will not be affected though parking in the Eden Street lot will be limited. “Sleepy Hollow” is described as a “modern day twist on Washington Irving’s classic.” Its stars include Tom Mison most recently seen in the film “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” and Nicole Beharie whose credits include this year’s Jackie Robinson bio-pic “42” and 2008’s “American Violet.” I’m George Olsen.
