The director of a local North Carolina public health agency says some people have been asked to voluntarily self-quarantine after coming in contact with a man who tested positive for coronavirus. Chris Kippes, director of Wake County's division of public health, told a news conference on Wednesday that the request was made of a number of people within the county and elsewhere in the state after coming within 6 feet of the patient for at least 10 minutes after he began to show symptoms. At the least, those people are being asked to check their temperatures twice a day and report any changes.
