Person Tests Postitive At Carteret County Congregate Living Facility

A staff member at a congregate living facility in Carteret County has tested positive for COVID-19.  The Carteret County Health Department said Wednesday that the latest confirmed case is the second staff person to test positive at the Croatan Ridge Rehab and Nursing Center in Newport.  The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services considers two or more laboratory-confirmed cases in a congregate living setting to be a COVID-19 outbreak.  According to a news release from the county, the two staff members are currently quarantined at home.  All residents and staff at the facility were tested, and there were no additional positive cases.  The Carteret County Health Department is implementing additional infection control precautions at the facility to prevent any further spread of COVID-19.  Carteret County recieved two additional positive coronavirus cases on Wednesday, for a total of 48 confirmed cases in the county.
