The Onslow County Health Department and Goshen Medical plan to pre-register 300 people for a COVID-19 testing event on Saturday. The drive through testing will be held in the Consolidated Human Services parking lot (612 College Street) at no charge from 9am to 1pm. According to a news release, current state guidance recommends testing for anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, and/or have been in contact with a known positive case. Those with a higher risk of exposure or a higher risk of severe disease should also consider testing. This includes people who live in or have regular contact with long-term care facilities, such as, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, and migrant workcamps. The Health Department said essential workers, health care workers, and first responders should also consider testing, as well as historically marginalized populations and those that may have attended a rally or protest.
