Improvement Projects In Craven and Duplin Counties Receive USDA Funds

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is providing a $111,000 loan and a $73,000 grant to the Vanceboro Rescue Squad. The funds will be used to purchase an ambulance, a boat motor, and a double transport trailer.  According to a news release, the majority of the squad's existing equipment has reached the end of its useful life. The Warsaw Fire Department will receive a $350,000 grant and a $350,000 loan to replace two aging tanker trucks. The USDA will invest in a total of 10 improvement projects in rural North Carolina communites.
