East Carolina University has identified two clusters of COVID-19 cases within some on-campus housing. According to a news release on Wednesday, eight cases were identified in Clement Residence Hall and six cases were identified at Garrett Residence Hall. The university said the indivduals in these clusters were identified and that they’re partnering with the Pitt County Health Department. Contact tracing was initiated to identify anyone who had come into close contact with an individual that tested positive for COVID-19. More than 170 new COVID-19 cases were reported among ECU students and employees in the past seven days.
