A manufacturing company is expanding to Goldsboro in Wayne County. PRE’s Meredith Radford has more.
Hosokawa Custom Processing Services is a division of Hosokawa Micron Corporation, which processes powders to be used by the chemical, mineral and plastic industries. The business is moving from New Jersey to Goldsboro and hopes to be operational by fall 2022.
According to a news release, the company will create 16 new jobs in Wayne County, with an investment of $6.5 million to relocate. These new jobs include operators, technicians and managerial personnel, with an average salary of around $50,000. Wayne County’s overall average annual wage is around $38,000.
A $50,000 grant from One North Carolina Fund will contribute to the Goldsboro Hosokawa location. The One NC Fund assists local governments to attract economic investment and create jobs.
