Companies Announce Expansion In ENC, Creating 160 New Jobs

NC Department of Commerce

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper’s Office announced on Tuesday that three companies are bringing new jobs into Eastern North Carolina.

Vinyl fence manufacturer Nebraska Plastic, Inc. will invest over $1 million in a manufacturing facility in Edenton. It plans to create 22 jobs. In Edgecombe County, Armorock LLC will establish a new manufacturing facility for its polymer concrete structures. The company will invest $6.6 million in the facility in Battleboro and create 55 jobs. Armorock has produced wastewater collection structures for more than 50 years.  And, a national provider of commercial insurance is adding 83 jobs in Wayne County.  Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company plans to expand its headquarters in Goldsboro with the construction of a new 30,000 square foot facility.  The company plans to invest $11.8 million.

All three companies are eligible for performance-based grants from the One North Carolina Fund. Nebraska Plastic is eligible for a $60,000 grant, Armorock is eligible for a $200,000 grant, and Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company is eligible for a $250,000 grant.  The companies need to meet investment and job creation standards to receive the grants.  North Carolina has the fifth largest manufacturing economy in the United States.
