FEMA Public Assistance will become available to local governments, state agencies and certain private non-profits in Bladen and Chowan counties, according to a news release from North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper's office. The cost-sharing program will provide reimbursement for costs spent on repairing infrastructure and public facilities damaged by Hurricane Dorian. Twenty-eight North Carolina counties are now eligible for FEMA Public Assistance for Dorian, including Beaufort, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Greene, Hoke, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Robeson, Sampson, Tyrrell, Washington and Wayne counties.
