Greenville behavioral health center gets green light from state officials

The health center is slated to open in 2025 and will have 144-beds, 24 of them dedicated to children and adolescents.

A new behavioral health center is Greenville won approval from state officials last week.

The health center, jointly administered through ECU health and Acadia Healthcare, is slated to open in 2025 and will have 144-beds, 24 of which dedicated to children and adolescents.

It’ll be the only facility within 75 miles to offer inpatient behavioral health services to children, and is expected to serve a 29-county area.

Construction is expected to begin later this year.
