The Dollar General on Bridges Street in Morehead City is temporarily closed after officials say a driver slammed into the building Monday morning.

The driver, who wasn’t impaired according to police, suffered minor injuries.

Investigators say the 84-year-old woman was trying to park when she pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake.

Nobody in the store was hurt.

There was some structural damage to the exterior and interior of the building, and employees say the store could be closed for a couple weeks until repairs can be made.
