Baby Girl, a 14-year-old beagle, was abandoned at a North Carolina airport when she didn't fit in her crate.

An animal rescue group is trying to find a home for a senior dog that was abandoned at an airport in North Carolina.

Officials with FurBabies Animal Rescue say an airline worker at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport alerted the rescue after the dog named Baby Girl was abandoned by her owner because she was unable to fit in her travel crate.

The rescue is trying to give the 14-year-old beagle a fresh start with a new family.

Officials say she needs blood and dental work before she can go to a home and they estimate the vet bill will cost about $1,000. The rescue has received enough donations to cover that cost.

Baby girl is in a safe, loving foster home and FurBabies has had many people reach out to ask about adopting her. They will be taking applications from possible forever families.
