Former NC nurse charged with murder, accused of administering lethal doses of insulin

A former nurse at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem has been charged in the deaths of two patients.

Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill said Johnathan Hayes is charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, He’s accused of injecting patients with lethal doses of insulin.

Hayes was held without bond. The hospital says Hayes was fired in March.

Kelly Batchelor hails from the small crossroads community of Cabin in Duplin County in eastern North Carolina. Since 1989 Kelly has been actively employed in radio.
