Interested residents in ENC are invited to the second state meeting on the N.C. Department of Transportation’s draft 10-year transportation plan.
All next week, the Lenior County office is asking for public comments about the funding and proposed construction schedule for any project in the draft 2024 to 2033 State Transportation Improvement Program.
Highway Division 2 is based in Kinston but includes projects upcoming in Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Greene, Jones, Lenior, Pamlico and Pitt counties.
Len White, the division’s planning engineer, will be available during regular business hours to talk about the draft STIP at the office on Rouse Road Extension. He also can be reached by phone or email.
People can submit comments about the draft STIP online, and take an online survey to indicate which projects matter to them most.
Projects scheduled in the first five years are generally considered to be committed, those in the latter half of the schedule are subject to be re-evaluated when the next STIP is developed.
