Radio Island dredging and beach placement is now complete and officials say the beach access will reopen on Friday. In March, the beach access was closed for dredging maintenance after frequent storm events caused significant erosion on the southeast side of the island. According to a news release, over 35,000 cubic yards of material was dredged from East Taylor’s Creek for placement along 2,775 linear feet of estuarine shoreline. Gates will open to the public at 8 a.m.
